Nashville, TN (August 2-3, 2008)

We pulled into Nashville around 1 in the afternoon (2 eastern time for those who forget). After unloading and letting the dog relieve himself we went a little sightseeing. Opryland Hotel for lunch and drinks. If you've never been, it's quite a beautiful place. Hot as crap, but nice nonetheless. You need to have drinks in the revolving bar in the BIG atrium!

The Opryland Hotel, well half of it because it wouldn't all fit in the picture!!

Inside the hotel......in the atrium.

The revolving bar!!

At the restaraunt.

We went out to dinner in Downtown Nashville at a place called the Bound'ry. Jeff stepped out of his normal food box and ordered the Ostrich! It's kinda like steak actually, very tender.

Then out for a night on the town, slightly honky tonk style. Local live music at the bars, and a VERY active and busy nightlife. This ended with a jaunt at the Coyote Ugly Saloon. Scantily clad women dancing on a bar (several of which should just stay behind the bar and serve drinks!)

Sunday morning rolled around and we needed some breakfast. We went to a place called Loveless Cafe, a Nashville Staple. Their wait was an hour and 20 minutes for BREAKFAST!!! We ended up at Cracker Barrell.... SO.... we ordered dinner for lunch and went back to Loveless to have breakfast for dinner. YUUUUUMY.

A little while later we decided to visit a local attraction. Belle Meade Plantation and greek revival mansion. A lovely place to visit and tour as well as a nice wedding locale. It was one of the largest private estates in Nashville. The farm was a thoroughbred nursery famous for breeding and training championship race horses. Recent Kentucky derby winners like Funny Cide and Barbaro, even racing legends like Secretariat can trace their bloodlines back to the breeding stock at Belle Meade.

We called it a night not too long after breakfast for dinner because we were leaving early for St. Louis.
